Three States in three days.... The first stop on our journey was Canberra, the Australian Capital. The drive was one long seven hour long road, with not much to look at other than roadkill, and when we finally reached the immaculate, extremely modern and beautiful city, it was a relief. The following day was one for exploring, although there was very little to explore as the city is fairly small and quiet. The main point of interest was the war museum, which was incredible. The passion Australians have both to teach and learn about heritage and history is admirable. Twenty-four hours was enough to see and do everything Canberra had to offer therefore the following day we headed to the Blue Mountains in Sydney. After a much more picturesque drive through the mountains we arrived at our hostel. An early rise to watch the sunrise from the three sisters lookout was definitely worth it and was one of the most amazing sunrises I have ever seen. Following this was a day trekking through and around mountains, to lookouts and waterfalls. We were at one with nature and even went a little off track adding a couple of hours onto our walk. After a late lunch with a view from the top of a mountain we headed back to the hostel for a cosy night infront of the fire! -2 temperatures were not what I was expecting when I came to Australia!
