Just arrived in Zanzibar. Update for Livingstone (Vic Falls) and Kande Beach (on Lake Malawi) coming soon. Zanzibar really is just like to photo! looking forward to a trip on a Dhow (see boat in pic) and snorkelling! Have hopefully temporarily misplacced my phone so text Alex's for now!

After leaving Livingstone we had three long days of driving before reaching Kande Beach on the edge of Lake Malawi (which takes up aboiut 20% of the country). While there we chilled ouit on the beach, swam half an hour to a rock island to snorkle -I also saw a monitor lizard disappearing into the rocks which was massive and I thought was a croc! We did a village walk with thereally friendly locals (who all have celebrity names!) visitng their homes, school and lo...

Crossed into Zambia after much confusion over a lost visa waiver but sorted out in the end! Arrived at the Waterfront camp site in Livingstone, then was all a bit of a rush! Straight off to the Vic falls which were stunning, noisy and wet - all good! Complete circular rainbow the highlight! Then back to the campsite for a "Sunset cruise" (not a booze cruise)! Very entertaining night!Whitewater rafting the next day on the Zambezi, to rid us of hangovers...

We were picked up early morning from our campsite in Kasane for our first proper game drive in 4x4s in Chobe National Park. We saw lions almost straight away although we were a bit disappointed to see that they were taggedand walked away quickly. We then drove along the side of the Chobe river and very quickly came across a dead elephant calf and lioness with very bloody face! Soon more lions gathered as she roared to the rest of the pride. From Etosha we headed to Trailblazers Bushman Camp at ghanzi. Went on a bushman walk who showed us how they survive in the desert using plants for water and different plants for various ailments and birth control (didn't seem very effective as they all had babies!) Next we went to the Okovango Delta. Only inland delta in the world - where the Oko river meets the Kalahari desert. Took a Mokoro (wooden canoe along with a poler!) fo 2hrs into the delta and then cam...
