The penultimate day
A 6am start to leave Hanoi. We are both in agreement that if we see another early start again it'll be too soon!A mad taxi journey to the airport - My trick now to deal with Vietnam traffic is to go to sleep! Amanda however is still having palpatations. A stress free airport visit and off to Kuala Lumpur.
It was boiling getting off the plane - Hello Sun. :-) We found somewhere to stay: Hotel Chinatown 2 and spent the day sightseeing. We visited the Petronas towers, went up the KL tower and declined a pony trip at the bottom. A bar called the beach for dinner turned out to be an interesting experience. We could have been in Bangkok or Amsterdam! So we moved on to a nicer bar next door but the bloody old woman owner ripped us off so we headed back to the chaos of Chinatown.
After wresting through the crowds we spent our KL evening chilling and taking in the last bit of our visit to Asia. It has been simply amazing.
Cambodia was inviting, rugged and breathtaking. Thailand was crazy, colourful and unique. Vietnam was energising, fascinating and beautiful and Malaysia has been modern, cultural and suprising.
We have many more stories to share and are both looking forward to: seeing you all, having a mum/mams dinner and eating some chocolate and some cheese! 59 hours of public transport plus many tuk tuk hours has been so worth it and we now we need to buy some carbon credits!
London calling - Home tomorrow. Transport hasn't let us down in Asia so let's see how we fair getting from Stansted to home!
Looking forward to the next blog .... wherever it may be!
