Another day... Another city to visit! Today was another travel day, this time we were headed to Monteverde (the green mountain). After a little whole in a taxi we boarded a ferry that took us along a river and then into a private van for the rest of the trip. Was about 1.5 hours of very bumpy, very uninhabited dirt road. About halfway we had some trouble getting up one of the hills because it had been raining. After 4 attempts and fails the whole group had to move to the back of the bus for our last attempt. Needless to say we made it but not without entertaining the locals for a while. We arrived in Monteverde about 2pm and after a quick orientation and laundry stop we headed to taco taco for lunch. Delicious! That evening we did the night tour of the jungle looking for animals and insects. We saw green tree snakes, an owl mid-kill, a fox, a porcupine and many many insects and spiders. Unfortunately though there were no sloths to be seen, much to Ellie's dismay. Dinner was at a local Tica restaurant and then the dangerously windy walk home began. Luckily everyone made it in one piece!
