Hola. Just to back track quickly, our time in Lima was fun, we saw quite a lot of it, if only briefly, central Lima is a whole different world to where we were staying in our upper class neighbourhood but it was very interesting to see and the colourful bulings and churches made it worth the stop over there.
From Lima we headed to Cusco which is to be our base for the next 2 months. The flight was only an hour from Lima and it just felt like we flew up and up then laded without ever coming down again. Felt fine when we got here but have since suffered from the altitude. We will get used to it though apparetly.
Our hostel is lovely much nicer than Lima and we have our own bathrom - which feels like a luxury already! We have had a quick walk about cusco yesterday and it is so different from what i was expecting, but in a good way. Its lots of little cobbled streets and a fabulous main square with a huge cathedral and church. Everything is so colourful and the sun seems to be shining a lot, although we have been told that only happens in the mornings and that the afternoons are heavy rain! It does feel like we are a long way from home though, everythng is so different.
We are being taken on a city tour this afternoon by a friend of our co-ordinatoor out here whic should be fun, then this afternoon we are off to the more rural areas to have a look at some of the projects we could be working on, so we are looking forward to that.
