We discovered last night, that we are considered 'movers' at our hotel. Most patrons books months in advance and come back time and again. We battled for two days to be accepted and have since moved rooms on three occassions to fit in with their plans.
Now a VIP is arriving on Sunday and we have been hoofed out of our poolside bungalow to a less amiable room at tha back of the lot.
For the first time on this trip, complaining brought no reward. Just an explanation that had they not worked tirelessly with their complicated reservations system, that we might have been asked to move a whole lot more.
What to do? Well, teach them a lesson of course. So we are heading for the nearby island of Koh Pha Ngan in a few days. Not before we bob over on the local ferry first to make sure we can enjoy decent lodgings. By nightfall tomorrow, we hope to have an alternative lined up and we can drop the bombshell on reception in letting them know we are not to be messed with.
There has been enough entertainment around the pool to keep us amused. Thong clad Ruskies are the latest addition to the poolside activities, which, ultimately, left Phill with a sun-burnt nose.
Now out of the sun for a day to recover, we headed for a Thai massage. Never before have we experienced such excrutiating pain as they elbowed us into a near coma. During the shreaks of pain, a third westerner (male) joined us and delighted in dropping, naked, onto the mat next to Phill. Not a pretty sight, we might add.
So, as Sue applies her nail polish, the only difficult joint decision today was 'pink or red'.
