Technology is on the brink of being so utterly amazing, isn’t it?
One day we will be able to update our travel blogs quickly and simply. Photos will update at the click of a button, postcards will display correctly first time and the guys from the nuthouse will finally be able to loosen the buckles on Phill’s straight jacket.
At some point during the next loop of the Sun, we will be able to show you pictures of our last 3 weeks in Argentina and bring some colour to an otherwise mighty enjoyable time.
Our return to Buenos Aires proved every bit as enjoyable as we’d anticipated. After a hard slog through the less glamorous Latin lands, our loft apartment in Palermo Viejo (a cool part of town) provided refuge for our travel weary bodies
The three weeks passed like Haley’s comet. Sue frog marched Phill round the unseen sights with little compassion. Highlights included the famous River Plate v Boca Juniors ‘El Classico’ football game, shopping malls which reaped two backpacks full of new clothes, Robbie Williams entertaining us and too many bottles of red wine to mention.
A couple of nights out with our dentist friends provided hangovers to be proud of and our new English pals, Russell and Caroline, eased us through a difficult night of cow consummation.
A day trip across the river to Uruguay created the backdrop for an unexpected yell of ‘hey Mr Spokes’. We’d stumbled upon Lisa V, our ex-colleague from London.
Arriving into the States last week, we have enjoyed 7 days in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. With time to kill we toted up our past trips to the USA. Forty one visits between us. Spending time here has been an education. Sue has played tour guide to the celeb’ sites around the city. From explanations as to why Pinks Hotdog shop has a queue of 100 people all day long, to pointing out the Scientology Building or Hollywood star haunts (no pun owing to Halloween by the way). That girl knows the score. Sue’s brother Chris lived here for nine years.
Tonight is our anniversary. We have been on the roas for a year. We will celebrate at an Indian restaurant, no doubt swilling our Tikka Masala’s down with vast quantities of Taj Mahal throat charmer. Just reward we think. We hook up with Chris’s mate, Tony for another night we will no doubt remember. He has looked after us well!
So whats up next? 1st November we fly to the Cook Islands. After ten nights we take flight for Fiji, then a week after that we are bound for New Zealand.
