Crossing over the border from Kenya into Arusha, Tanzania, we met our new tour leader and prepared for the next 8 days on safari in Tanzania. We lost Dermot & Deidre, who were flying back to Ireland, but gained about 8 others from Canada & South Africa. Places we travelled to include crossing the Rift Valley into Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater & Olduvai Gorge (famed as the site of first human civilisation), Serengeti National Park and Tarangire National Park. Tanzania was so lush compared to the landscape of Kenya, it was really beautiful. It was amazing seeing the masses of zebra & wilderbeest on the Serengeti Plains, even without it being the time of Migration ! We saw loads of lions on the Gold Copjes at Serengeti. Lake Manyara was excellent, as this is where we finally scored the Big 5, finally spotting that elusive leopard that we couldn't find in Kenya but located here !
