A perfect summer day in Vienna. First to the Belvedere by the D tram. Fabulous 18th century architecture plus Klimt and more. Lovely gardens and so hot for this time of year. Retired to a Nusdorf "heuriger" for lunch with new wine. Had to settle for a little garden pub called Bam Kraxler with an 80s rock cover band till Kierlinger opened. It's a heat wave in Vienna, unseasonably hot at 30 C yesterday and expected again today. What a fabulous city! We have an apartment in the city, close to everything. Arrived Friday night and yesterday hit the ground running, amazing flea market Naschmarkt, brat for brekkie. Then on the train to Schonbrunn palace, so beautiful, such excess, fabulous garden, FULL of roses. In the courtyard a Korean ladies choir in full voice AND makeup, awesome. Then train back to ...
