A more peaceful night with the wind beginning to drop and we woke up to a much better day with moderate seas, force 6 dying away by afternoon to about 3. Really busy again. My nephew said that he was curious how we keep busy all day and I must admit this was the one thing that concerned me about the voyage. Although, I have to say that I am such an avid reader that provided I have my kindle and a GSM or wifi link to get new books, I would be happy almost anywhere. However, there is a fantastic enrichment programme on offer on the sea days. Various classes of all levels, lectures, dance lessons of all types, art lessons, various sports, gym, spa, aerobics, port lectures, photography club. Even a daily get-together for AA, GLBTG, Singles Mingles, a cinema, choir, Glee, a library….. There's lots of things we want to do and will have to schedule for later segments. Or you could just find a quiet corner with a couch and a book….
After breakfast we scampered off to our bridge lesson which I have to say we are really enjoying and then straight up for Spanish. Today we learned a lot of the alphabet and different phonetic sounds. Lots of "th..ing" and a strange rolling "h" that sounded more like you had a bad chesty throat. I then persuaded Bob to join me in an aerobic dance class for an hour. I know…… but he didn't….. We had to learn a number of different routines: Reach for the Stars, YMCA, the Macarena, and something else clearly so horrific I have blotted it from my mind!!!! It was exhausting, made only bearable by Bob's increasingly accusing stares especially during the YMCA!!!! Anyway, it was a good workout.
Another art lesson - today painting a clifftop scene in "primitive naïve" style. This may be the only style I can actually do J I was pretty pleased with the result though. This tutor is a genius. I know its not original art, but the fact that I have produced something that looks like his example is utterly utterly amazing.
Tonight is the first formal night so we are getting "poshed up" for dinner. Then we are going to a nautical quiz (we might actually win something….) and then to the theatre to see The Opera Boys who are something like El Divo.

Sally Bob, Macarena ...... Ha hahahaha ;) xxxx
Anne-Marie Rainbow IPad rubbish trying to post a rating. Five star, ignore what is there. So pleased there is lots of enrichment to amuse. Try the line dancing, such good fun, but hard on the knees .....
Mrs Martina Wise Very enjoyable descriptions so far! The flow of your pen carries a lot of movement and activity in a serene way. You have given a lively account of life in situ :)). So glad your setting sail photos have caught up with your narrative. Viva Espana - I look forward to conversing in Spanish with you upon your return.
Sheila holbrook Allie, never mind reading, you need to 'get out' your pen again!!! no excuses!! Did you by any chance have your camera with you during the aerobics, that would have made us laugh, the thought is doing. Love xxxx
Penny Napier Well done, well done
jan AA? Is that really what I think it is?
