A boiling hot day and humid at times. Still steaming south just off the coast of Mexico. Around Acapulco at lunch time. Lots more sea creatures today: dolphins and porpoises, all leaping and jumping alongside the ship. A lovely sight.
Lay by the pool for a while this morning reading and then had my hair cut. It had got pretty long. Very traumatic using a strange hairdresser. You have to explain everything to them and then watch like a hawk as they cut. A problem on board is that there are a lot of elderly ladies who still go for the "shampoo and set" style beloved of my mum's generation. If you're not careful they just go into remote control mode and give you one of those!!!! Anyway, it's turned out ok. Not a bad job.
Started a two day picture in art. A Mexican looking chap reading a newspaper in a seedy bar with a small dog and other details. Not too bad…. Am having a bit of a plateau at the moment.
After art….. arrrrgghhh…. Laundry duties LOL. Luckily it was very quiet and we got two machines immediately.
Heard back from the guy who's running our private tour in Costa Rica. We are docking early so he suggests we meet at 8. Rang around the others to let them know. In fact we dock at 5 but no one wants to get up that early….
Formal night again tonight. Never thought I would say this, but it is a bit of a fag….. I used to really love the dressing up nights, and it does look very lovely and glamourous but…… it's hot…. It's an effort….
Still, glad we made the effort and we scrubbed up quite well! Good dinner with new people and interesting chat. Freedom dining works well. You get to meet loads of people but are moving around every night so it doesn't get stale.
After dinner we saw the pianist/comedian again. Really excellent. Bob likes him one of the best we've seen. Took a final turn around the deck. Still soooo warm. Must easily still be about 26C.
