Night location: London, United Kingdom
It has been a quiet transit day for us today. We enjoyed a leisured breakfast and soaked in our palatial suite one final time before making our way to the airport. Our original itinerary had us travelling to Tallinn today, but for reasons that will become apparent tomorrow, we are in London instead! For the first time ever we flew on the draconian airline Ryanair which have cut costs to such an extreme that they won't print your boarding passes for you without imposing a heavy fee. Fortunately David had read the fine print and we were prepared to follow all of their rules and therefore managed a reasonably pleasant flight experience.
We left a drizzly day in Riga and have arrived to a drizzly day in London. After catching the Stansted Express train to Liverpool Station we walked through the misty rain to our hotel and then enjoyed a quiet afternoon of reading our books inside.
David had researched and booked us a table at a brilliant French restaurant called Galvin La Chapelle for dinner. Set in a converted chapel, we enjoyed their seven course degustation menu that was one hit after the other, concluding with an apple tarte tatin.

Althea Halliday Thank God you arrived safely in London! Not even a boarding pass! Deary me! It is delightful reading about your wonderful accommodation and your glorious meals. What a truly varied holiday. You will have so much to tell us when you are home.
