Night location: Helsinki, Finland
We are nearing the end of our holiday which is bittersweet in many ways. For the last full day in Europe we made the most of the brilliant shopping options in Helsinki. After a relaxing start to the day with a delicious breakfast we began our shopping marathon in the Finnish department store Stockmann which opened in 1862. From here we caught the tram up to the design museum shop and cafe in the heart of the design district and then after a refreshment break we returned back to the main shopping district.
In the heart of the CBD is a uniquely shaped orange building that on first glance you would assume was another trendy design studio. Instead, the Kamppi Chapel offers passersby a moment of respite and reflection in the silent, light filled, simple Scandinavian interior. We were inspired by this space last year so returned for a short spell of quietude.
For the rest of the afternoon we wandered through the main shopping esplanade before returning to our hotel for a rest. Last year we were fortunate enough to dine at a restaurant called Nolla. It is the first zero waste restaurant in Scandinavia and absolutely exceptional. There is always a risk returning to a place that you have loved before however. Fortunately for us, our six course vegetarian degustation (plus a shared cheese course) was every bit as good as last year. We have eaten in some pretty incredible restaurants on this holiday, but this one is still our favourite.

Althea Halliday What a triumphant conclusion to your holiday. And yes, you have enjoyed some truly remarkable meals, and as you said, Helsinki's restaurant has come through again. We very much look forward to hearing you stories first hand.
