After driving through the mountains we arrived in Colorado Springs which is about an hour from Denver. We stopped for one night and visited a small town slightly up the mountains called Manitou Springs. It was a lovely traditional town with lots of good shops. Ok, lots has happened since Houston. For one we have driven about 1 million miles through the empty roads of Texas. After leaving the home of space we drove to Austin which is the capital of Texas. There was not a great deal here apart from the standard capital building (the 6th we have seen so far), and the free tour that runs along side it. Hello from Texas....... Well we are currently in Houston having driven yesterday from Dalls/Fort Worth. I will update you from Memphis in this blog. Whilst in Memphis we visited the home of Elvis Presley which was brilliant, it reminded me of a trip to a theme park.
