So this one deserves its own entry.
An early start, picked up at 7.30am along with 11 others and we headed north over the bridge out of Sydney. Just over 2 hrs later we're arriving at our first vineyard of the day.
In the distance a plume of smoke can be seen from a bush fire, currently being battled (later that day, after we had left, the fire would get close to Cessnock requiring some people to be evacuated, but all was ok the fire services got it under control).
First stop was Iron Gate vineyard, owned and run by at expat from Kent. Several wines tasted here!
Second stop was at the Savannah estate, family run, again more wines both white and red with the odd rose to sample including the fizz in the picture.
Then a break from the wine tasting for lunch in a little tourist village, there's a shop there that does cheese tasting - yum! I did purchase a little bit of a Moroccan spiced goats cheese to eat whilst in Sydney.
In the afternoon, we visited the Constable vineyard, and another 8 wines. I did purchase a bottle here, let's see how well it travels. Finally making it back around 7pm. A good day out!
