We met up with Daren, Sarah and baby Ellena. More friends from back home who have lived in Wellington for approx. four years. Daren was allowed time off for good behaviour and showed us some of the city's finer drinking establishments.

The Te Papa museum is worth a visit. It kept us amused one rainy day!

The sun did make an appearance whilst we were in Wellington. We made the most of the favourable conditions with a climb up Mt Victoria and xxx.

Our visit was made complete by a quick tour of the Beehive and Parliament Building.

Finally we caught the ferry to Picton for the start of our journey to the South Island.
