We took a boat ride down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo. Very touristy (there was a convoy of boats) but the scenery was well worth it.

Yangshuo is only a small place but is crammed full of market stalls - all waiting for the boats from Guilin to arrive. You wonder how they mange to survive as they all sell the same crap!

We hired some bikes and headed for the countryside. Easily the best so far on our travels. We also took a bamboo raft down the Yu Long River and even went caving and had a very cold mud bath! Great for your skin apparently.....!!

If you plan on a visit then definitely stay at the Yangshuo Culture House run by Mr Wei and his family. A great place to meet other people as all the evening meals are provided. Everyone sits round a circular table sharing their travel tales.
