Oh want a difference a day makes! It takes a while to get used to people constantly jumping queues and spitting in the streets. We're obviously a novelty as people stare at you and even take pictures. The streets are full of hawkers trying to sell you anything from CDs to watches.

Shanghai is a mixture of the old and the new. On the one hand there is the ultra modern Pudong District with its endless skyscrapers including the Jinmao Tower (world's 4th tallest building) and the futuristic looking TV Tower. On the other hand is the leafy European-esq suburb of the French Conncession. This is a great place just to hang out and sample the many bars and restaurants.

The less said about the trip to the zoo the better!
