Visited Coney Island today for a couple of reasons. 1 - its the home of the Warriors, 2 - it has a world famous hotdog place that holds a hotdog eating contest every year (unfortunately i missed the occasion this year), and 3 - its the beach! in New York! in Brooklyn no less! after an hour on the subway I headed straight to Nathan's to grab a 'dog with onions and sauerkraut. just a few little observations about drinking in the US. 1. pints are smaller then in the UK - more like australian steiners 2. american beer is horrible. 3. if you're drinking in your local you can leave your money on the bar and the bar maid will look after it for you 4. as it is the US, you tip the barmaid. usually a dollar a drink 5. if you follow rule 4 after 4 or 5 drinks the bar maid will buy you a drink. 6. prices are pretty flexible, often...
