Afternoon all!
Hope your ok and all ready for santa coming soon? Doesnt feel like xmas at all over here (although im not complaining, its saving me a fortune!!!) Saying that though, i did see santa today, he wa black tho and driving a wagon!
Were now in namibia, got here today so cant really tell you what its like yet. Botswana was a lovely country (cant remeber what i emailed you all last) but had a fantastic time there. We stopped at this lovely campsite with a nice bar. That was the first night with our new group where me n stephen decided to get wrecked thru day, didnt put our tents up and had to sleep in this birds tent. No one else was drinking so dont think we made a good impression! Got to know the group better now and they all seem ok (few of them are geeks but we just take p*ss!) Anyway we went on a sunset cruise there which was nice, saw hippo's, elephants batheing in the river and croc's. Me and stephen kept getting told off though for daring eack other to dangle our legs over side into water!
After that we went to the ockavango delta (big national park with loads of rivers) We stayed on this island in the middle of it and the only way you can get there is by these wooden canoes called mokorrows. Two people sit in them then a local pushes you along with these big stick things (they were abit like gondolas in venice) We had a go at doing it ourselves, proper hard work and most of us ended up in water! We were camping out in wild aswel so if you needed the toilet you had to did a hole.... nice!
the next day we took a flight over the delta in a 5 man plane (a right rickity old thing!). I thought id enjoy it but got really bad travel sickness so that was a waste of money! Was nice to see all the animals from the sky though.
It was also this lads 25th b.day called Alex. Luckily we were stopping at a good campsite with a bar so it was another good excuse to have a few beers! We all ended up in the pool as usual and playing stupid drinking games.
Last night we went on a bushmans walk, i wasnt gonna go cos felt shocking but when the bushmen and women turned up i thought im not missing this. I know i shouldnt av but i just couldnt stop laughing. They were like cave men! All of them wa no higher than 4ft, the women had their t*** out n the men wore nothing but these homemade Pant things! Their language was like this clicking noise. It wa amazing to see, they ate grass and stuff, honestly you just dont think people like that exist anymore. Its a shame though cos theres only about a 1000 of them left. When we asked the translater to ask there ages, none of them knew! Even the little baby, they said she was about 2 or 3. They just had no concept of time or owt just lived in another world! They still went out hunting with spears..... crazy!
After that we went to this quarry for a swim then had a BBQ under stars, was a really nice night.
Anyway, im probably boring you all by now so ill love ya n leave ya and will be in touch again soon, by the way the hand's all better now (although pretending its not to stephen cos he's still putting up tent on his own, Ha!!)
Bye bye xxxxxxxxxxxx
