After 1.5hours on the boat- where I felt a bit rough cos I hadnt had chance to eat or drink enough all morning and it was a bit of seasickness I think- we arrived and WOW!!!! I think it must be one of my favourite places, if not my favourite place so far!! Its like paradise! We was met at pier by bloke from hotel who took our bags and put them in big wheelbarrow thing- there are no real roads so he wheeled the barrow through the little streets lined with stalls and bars and restruarants up to the base of a mountain where he put all the bags in the back of a truck thing that went along a dirt track backwards up to our hotel. We was given cold water and showed the best beaches and shops and routes to get to them. Then they carried our bags up to our hut which has a lil balcony from which you can see the sea. The hut is well cool with a nice lil en-suite. We were starving so dumped our stuff then headed out to explore. We walked down to the little streets and found nice lil restruarant for some more cheap food!! Then we walked to beach- its amazing! Its in a cove with big rock formations on either side covered in greenery and palm trees. The water is turquoise and the beach pure sand. It was probably made better by the fact that the skies were clearer!! We walked along a bit til sun started setting. Then went on internet before getting supplies and heading back to room. We heard some sort of chanting from our hut which was cool- dunno if it was the Buddhists or from the mosque. We saw the sun set and then I finished my book on Ladyboys- very interesting but very sad!! It has changed my perspective on things. We found a lizard in the room!!!!! Urgh!! Lil alex managed to get it out the hole it come in then stuff it with tissue so no more could get it. But found a couple in bathroom later!! We slept with big mosquito net around us! Woke up in the night to rain like I've never heard before!! I thought the hut was gonna cave in or there would be mudslide on the hill and we'd slide down. Lil alexs squirts are much better thanks although he woke up with a dodgy eye today!!

29/5/09: Got up and went for breakfast about 9- had toast and fried eggs included in hotel price!! The weather was grey and drizzly!! We headed out to town to look at tours and booked a day tour around the bays and other little islands snorkelling, etc, for tomorrow!! We also walked to one of the little beaches and explored some more parts of the town we hadnt seen yesterday. Went back to hotel to book another couple of nights- we plan to spend 5 nights here in total! Then we headed out to a viewpoint up the mountain- I have never climbed soooo many stairs and by this point the sun was out and it was roasting. It was worth it though, possibly the best views so far! Could see beaches on either side with little town in middle and then all the high rocks covered in greenery and palms behind it. We got to first viewpoint and sat down with a cold drink to take it in and recover. Then went up to even higher viewpoint with even better view! Heard a couple discussing going to this nice little, quiet beach and so we followed them but ended up in the middle of the jungle- the path turned to nothing and I have never seen so many lizards so god knows what else was in there!! It was like Leonardo in The Beach except we never found it!! We gave up and went back the way we come. We went to the normal beach and chilled for a couple of hours!! Then we went back to hotel and had showers and got ready and headed out. Had Mexican for dinner- very nice. Then I went and had a massage- opted for a face massage this time. Very relaxing and nice- she done all my shoulders and head as well. Lil alex has uploaded more pics!! We then went to a bar and had a drink before heading back- we was lucky cos we just missed the torrential rain which lasted all night and made the hut sound like it was caving in!

30/5/09: SQUIRTS UPDATE: when we got back last night I felt really rough- I had a headache, stomach and felt really sick! I also had a tad of the squirts! Then in the morning lil alex spent the first hour on the toilet while I went and had breakfast and sorted the room for 3 more nights cos I felt a bit better. We spent the next hour alternating turns on the toilet, as I dont think eating helped me, until the Immodium kicked in! Luckily the trip wasnt until 11, but we didnt really feel like it. The weather was gorgeous!! We went to the pier and got on our wooden long boat then set off to Monkey Bay where there was hundreds of monkeys running wild around the beach and up and down the rocks! Then we went snorkelling at Shark Point where there is meant to be sharks but didnt see any!! Not as good coral or marine life as on the Reef but still quite cool. Then we went to Bamboo Island where we were given a rice dish for lunch but it had meat in and I dont think I'd have eaten it anyway, although I was feeling better by now except for the seasickness as we spent hours on the boat! We chilled on the beach for an hour then headed to a big cove surrounded by high rocks- the water was crystal clear and it was absolutely beautiful- we were jumping in and swimming and looking at the fish! Then we went to Maya Bay which is The Beach!!! Wow! It wasnt as pretty as some of the other beaches we saw today but it was cool and we spent a while relaxing there- they were shooting some Bollywood thing- with all cameras, etc, on the beach- so that was cool to watch! Then we got the boat back to the pier about 6. We went and had dinner- stuck with pasta. Lil alex has put todays photos on!! Then we got some drinks from the shop and went back to the room for showers, etc, and an early night cos we was pretty knackered.

31/5/09: Squirts Update: All better on that front, even lil alexs eye is better! Plus the weather was absolutely gorgeous!!! So we went for breakfast then headed straight for beach. We were the first 2 on the beach and noone else was there for another hour or so- til like 11. We paid a pound each for a deck chair and umbrella- a bit of luxury!! We watched the hundreds of crabs running around the beach while it was quiet. Even when it got busy people seemed to avoid our stretch which was cool. It was a roasting day so we took turns on the drinks run. We chilled and read and swam- we both swam out to a floating platform thing. We left beach about 4 and had quick dip in the pool when we got back to hotel. Then we had showers and got ready before heading out to watch sunset. Then we had lovely dinner for 10 quid! Plan is to go to Half Moon Party tonight. Missed out on massage today cos I am so badly bitten all over by mosquitos and I have scratched them so have a few scabs that I dont think the masseurs would appreciate. We went to a couple of bars for a drink. Then headed to one of the bars on the beach where they were holding a Half Moon Party cos there was a half moon and it is really just a rip-off of the full moon parties they have- a much smaller version. We got a drink and sat watching a bloke doing tricks with a swords. They had a dj playing. They had a few games. Then we got buy one get one free buckets- I dont know what alcoholic spirit was in it but it was mixed with redbull and not too pleasant. But we managed to drink one bucket each. Then we moved onto the beach and the fire performers come on- they were the best and fastest we have seen so far. People were then skipping with a fire skipping rope and a band come on. Lil alex was really drunk and feeling a bit sick by now so headed back. As usual we was greeted with several lizards in the hut but then I went in the bathroom and only found a bloody snake!!!!!!! It was a really long but quite skinny one on the top of the window ledge- but when I called lil alex (who was more scared than me) it wriggled out of a hole it had come in from!!

1/6/09: We got up about 9- no more snakes luckily! We got ready and went for breakfast then headed for the beach as it was another glorious day!! We paid a pound each for a deckchair and umbrella again today and spent the day chilling. I finished my book about the Bangkok prostitute- quite interesting!! But luckily, lil alex also finished his book Defiance so that is my next read. We chilled on the beach til about 4 when I was glowing a tad. We went back and got showered and then headed out for tea- nice except the ants on my plate- but I guess they do eat insects here! We are not drinking tonight. We were gonna leave tomorrow for Krabi but have decided to stay one more night!! We walked around the market stalls but didnt buy anything then headed back- we spent ages blocking every hole we thought a lizard might possibly be able to get in to but still woke in the night to see them running around the ceiling and making the stupid clicking noise they make.

2/6/09: We got up about 8.30. Went down for breakfast and headed to the beach for another relaxing day! Another scorcher! By about 3 we had had enough sun and so went to a cafe for a baguette for lunch and a cold drink. Then lil alex went on the internet while I went for another massage- I decided that the masseurs have probably seen a lot worse than a few scabs on someones legs. I opted for an aroma oil massage today!! I was again led upstairs- so maybe it is the norm. The massage was one of the best! Very relaxing- as it was meant to be cos I had opted for the relaxation oil!! It was 350 baht- 7 quid and I gave her a 2 pound tip- I have never seen anyone look so suprised- so dunno if I am a generous tipper or if she just didnt expect it from someone like me. I met up with lil alex who had been on internet and we headed back to the hut. We had showers and got ready then headed out. Had Thai for dinner- very nice- only 3 quid each!! We are off to Krabi tomorrow and staying in a nicer room in proper hotel!! We stopped at some shops on the way back and I got a Gucci watcha nd lil alex got a Rolex for 30quid. Finished packing stuff. Lil alex reckons a lizard fell on the net around us and run down my side in the night- seeing as he could hardly sleep cos he was scared so was keeping watch.

3/6/09: Got up about 8 and had breakfast. Checked out and walked to ferry- got 10.30 boat to Krabi.
