It's 3rd April. It's Sabina's birthday. We (the coach) just sang in totally Hockin/Clapham style tonelessness to her which she loved, I assume. Happy birthday Bina!
Well if I was feeling any kind of homesick it has been well and truly washed away (wait for the pun) because a truckload of rain is hitting the coach as we drive down the west coast like a true Cornish summer holiday. The driver is also pleased cos he doesn't have to wash the bus now! I have now got a collection of postcards to write from 3 different countries and and look forward to writing them. Now I have the perfect chance since the sunshine has ended. This is definitely the time for watching movies and playing card games. I realised as I was walking to the sea shuttle how much I miss films. I can see myself spending a week or so catching up on films when I return. Company and recommendations are welcome.
I have of course been thinking if my career whilst travelling in terms if environmental science when I retire from teaching. I feel drawn to hydrology and hydrogeology and geology itself again. The power and need and use of water is just astounding and comparing yesterday's dry rivers with today's bank-bursting ones makes me smile. (There are no towns or communities I worry about here)
