On day eleven it was all systems go as we got packed to go to Canberra, and whilst the final checks were being done, I cleaned the Ute and the Colorado, once everyone was ready we got in the car for a long journey from Weetulta to Canberra, for lunch we stop off at Shear Outback which is a pleasant stop just off the highway and it is dedicated to providing travellers with the knowledge and history behind sheep shearing in Australia, and along with lots of old memorabilia and a sheep shed demonstrating how shearing is done these days. That night we were booked into a motel in Mildura which was around the half way mark between our origin and destination so we stayed in the Kar-rama Motel which was very nice and clean. We headed out to dinner originally going to the working man's club but apparently it was under renovation so we found the RSL (Returning Service League) and had some incredibly delicious lamb shanks, after dinner we went into the casino and had a few goes on the slot machines and I managed to win $24 which wasn't too bad and a good way to end the night.
Day 12 started off pretty early as we had to make a move from Mildura to Canberra as we still had around 9 hours to travel. In one day we managed to cross different states (Victoria - New South Wales - Australian Capital Territory). Once we arrived in Canberra we met our hosts for the next couple of days who were called Keith & Mary and they lived in Woden which is an area just on the outskirts of Canberra and is one of three towns that make up Canberra.
