Hello all,
We are now in New York, New York. Travelling down though New England was great fun. Lots of familiar place names and great architecture. We even found an old retro rollerskating rink where I (Alex) indulged in some nostalgia.
We stopped over in three towns in New England on the way down to Boston; Augusta, Portsmouth and Salem (of witch trials fame). Boston was a great city, possibly in my top three world cities. We had a great time there, I loved the way the place was laid out, enough history to have character and enough planning to be easy to explore. They actually burried the motorway under the city a few years back so there is a strip of open grass running right through downtown!
From Boston we caught the train down to New York. The train was really fast and we raced through a few states only managing a few pictures and videos, but we did see (if only fleetingly) the towns of Kingston, Providence, New London & New Haven to name but a few!
We've been in New York a couple of days now. Our hotel is in a good spot right in the centre of town. We've already seen a few of the sites, been up the Empire State Building, looked around Grand Central Station, Time Square, the Rockafeller Centre, and the amazing Public Library we are in now, which looks like a palace! We've even found time to sample a little art at the Morgan Library Galleries!
Hope all is well with you guys at home?
Lots of Love,
Alex and Debbie xxx
