Ok , Firstly BIG apologies for not updating sooner, had a problemo with ma buisness. Not fully sorted, but less of a worry. and being an old fart have had senior type probs getting ma head round the technical bits. Anyhoo we're here in Chaiang mai at present, have done the trek bit, which is brilliant, but exhausting in the heat. Aly of course blagged the tour guide(ette) to carry her back pack up several mountains. Wow the scenery, the villages, elephant(chang) camp was just the best. We both sat on the neck of the chang, like the mahout, sqeals of delight, well that was me, Aly was a bit more composed, bloody scary at first when the Mahout jumped off and left us to it. At the end though we were both ready to give up England, put the Mahout on the plane and stay there, lol. on the last night we stayed at a pretty village, a short, 1.5 hrs trek from the elephant camp, bathed in the stream that ran through the village, in the rain! Peter Kay would have had a field day, lol. Only got bitten twice on the 3 day trek! Pim(pimnara) our 27yr old female tour guide was truly a tonic, I couldn't get the Pimms advert outta my head the whole trip. When we got back to CM we all (7) went to the Riverside Restaurant, good food, good live bands, nice setting and good value.
