Today started with our early morning where we had to pack and get to the bus station as we were going to Australia zoo for the day, then straight onto our next destination of Noosa. The weather was good this morning, but just before we arrived at the zoo, it clouded over and the heavens opened! It did clear up though and we have had a day of sunshine with quick showers.
On arriving at the zoo we crammed all our luggage into lockers (Sally and me couldn't open ours at the end of the day because it was too full!).
We had a full day at the zoo seeing giant tortoise, elephant, koala, crocodile and birds of prey shows. We got to feed the elephants, hold koalas and stoke lizards, snakes, birds and wombats. In between this we visited the enclosures of all the animals there as well as going to Africa - the new safari section of the zoo although it isn't finished yet! All in all it was a really good day out, I am now surrounded by three sleeping travelling pals, so I think it has tired is all out!
From the zoo we collected out bags and waited for our bus to take us to Noosa. The bus was really late but we made it. On arriving in Noosa, we did a bit of food shopping and then realised we could not get the courtesy shuttle bus to the hostel as we had arrived too late due to our delayed greyhound bus. Another girl called Faye was also staying at the hostel and we decided to get a taxi together but none were coming! After a while of waiting, a car pulled up and a young lad asked if we were staying at a backpackers and he would take us. We were dubious but we accepted as it seemed ok and we were exhausted. He had to do two trips to take us and all our stuff! He was an ex-traveller who has settled here for a while and got a job. We weren't sure if he wanted money, like a taxi, but he refused and it was just a nice deed! We were very grateful!
Our hostel is very nice, with two four-bed dorms in an apartment, and these share a bathroom, kitchen and living area with TV, DVD player and sofa! It's really nice as only a maximum of eight people share this so it is quite clean. Faye, the girl we met at the bus station, cooked us a lovely pasta bolognaise which was exactly what we needed. We have hired a DVD for tonight and then an early night is in order I think ready for our next adventure!

angela enjoying your blogs amy keep them coming, sounds like you meet some really nice samaritans on your travels, restores your faith in mankind and a contrast to our bill boards in stockport, "man arrested for beheading and setting fire to his brother!"
