so, do they say "toe-may-toe" or "toe-mah-toe" in australia?
Angela
Hi All!
Gotta make this quick cause I am off to a pub to watch the Melbourne Cup. I bet on 2 different horses so I want big bucks! FI, Mom, Claudia, Pamela thanks for the messages and info.
I am currently in a small town called Bowen working in a tomotoe factory and hating every minute of it. Jobs include putting four tomatoes at a time in a rotating cutting machine for 7/8 hrs straight, or turning over the cut tomatoe wedges that are on trays and putting salt on them for 7/8 hrs straight, or taking the trays with the dried tomatoes on them off a trolly and throwing them in a bin for 7/8 hrs staight. I hate tomatoes!
But fun is soon to come this weekend again and I'll have more money!
Love Ya'll - Ang

Ok... so I totally suck! I've just been reviewing all of your messages, and apparently I'm the only person you know who hasn't posted anything for you yet!!! My humblest apologies! I've been super swamped at work, and that's really the only time I care to go near a computer. Excuses aside, I promise to keep in touch more!
I've been eyeballing your pics and it looks like you're having the time of your life way over there! I am SO jealous!!! Wish I could be there with you... those crazy Aussies had better be taking care of our girl or I'm gonna have to go postal on their asses! Sorry to hear about your toe... hope it's healing nicely.
Nothing much to report from here... I am SO boring! I'm heading out on a cruise for my friend Audrey's wedding on the 11th, but other than that... NADA! Just working away and trying to squeeze in some play time here and there.
I was going to send an email to the guy Kevin knows at DDB Syndey later today, but decided to hold off. Let me know if you're still interested in possibly working there. I don't want to send the President of DDB Sydney an email and you already have another job working somewhere else! That just wouldn't be cool! If you're interested let me know, and I'll be sure to bcc you on the email I send to keep you in the loop.
Man I miss you like crazy girl! Gotta get back to work, but I loves ya! Play safe kay? We want you back in one piece! Hugs and kisses, Mel
Sibylle
Hi Ang,
I can see you again now that I've got a new monitor (old one burned out). Your pics are awesome! You're having lots of experiences but play it safe too, ok? (just like a ..) Mom

Yeah,
Lets just say that the husband made the decision. But no regrets. I'm pretty sure I would be single again if we still lived on the Gold Coast. You'll see what I mean when you get there - the ghosts of fun past are probably still down there. Actually you'll be hanging out with one of them.
Aidan is tormenting us with his "3 year oldness". Bloody cute though. We are learning to laugh without making a sound or moving our lips. I think it's called parenting but I haven't seen it in any of the books I don't read on parentling. Thank god for Supernany and the Treehouse network, or child services would have something to do.
I should warn you about Halloween down under. They have Devil's night confused with Halloween. So there's a lot of egg throwing and vandalism - but not really any trick-or-treating. Luckily you don't actually have a door to open - an egg would probably be on the other side of it. And there are no pre-Xmas sales either - the Boxing Day sale is just that - on Boxing Day, and only on Boxing Day.
Are you doing the sailing thing out of Airlie Beach? I went with ProSail and it was excellent. Great price and great trip. Also stayed at the large Beaches hostel above the large pub. WARNING: If you go skinny dipping with new found "friends" at the beach in front of the pub at night - there are big jellyfish - you can only see the large obvious signs during the day. At night the darkness and copious amounts of alcohol make them impossible to see.
If you want to do Fraser Island - I highly recommend Beaches in Hervey Bay - they are well organized to kit you out and put you in self-drive 4wds with other backpackers. Great trip! The organization ends when you get to Fraser and can experience it all on your own terms. (Just watch out for 6 nippled men - no I'm not talking about dingos, I'm serious.)
Enjoy,
Fi

so i was updating a client's resume the other day and one of his theatre credits was to read "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and without realizing I had put "Hedwig and the Angry Itch" - haha...thankfully he almost peed his pants when he read it....and I almost equally peed my pants when I realized what I had done. Which led me to believe that I could have mistakenly been putting my own Freudian spin on hundreds of clients resumes with both them and me none the wiser.
But what if I'm subconscioulsy sabotaging the resumes and replacing legitimate theatre credits of "Too Many Cooks" with "Too Many c*** " ....or the now defunct "Lord of the Rings" to "Bored of the Rings" to compensate for my own sick and twisted pleasure to cope with the monotony that is my job?
Things that make you go "Hmmmmmm"

Sorry about the multiple messages, but wanted to thank you for your PC and call - will try to call you on your cell soon. Just working a little too hard here! xo

I wish I was with you! I'm so excited for you and you look like you're having the best time! (all except for the toe thing.) Saw an article in an old issue of TIME Magazine (Dec 19/05) with beautiful pics of a chain called "Base Backpackers" available around Sydney and Auckland - apparently they have private rooms starting at $58 and they're described as offering hostels with hotel-like amenities including saunas and spas. Thought I'd mention it in case you're interested after your outback travels and you don't already know about this. Can't wait to see you again and drink a beer (or the light cooler things you like.)
Claudia
i now have the pic of you and those crazy glasses on my desktop display. it was a toss up between that one and the decapitated toe nail. it was a close race. but my penchant for gagging was overruled by my penchant of not puking over my computer screen. go figure.

NORELLI - what the eff? I want details email me! I miss you sooo much!
FI - I love Canada but I can't believe you chose there instead of here, but I guess the husband helped make the decision. You were so right about all the advice you gave me, thanks for that. I hope your shoulder is doing good. I'll be sure to hunt Darren down. Miss ya!
ANNETTE - I miss you like crazy and there have been so many times I wished you were here with me. The shopping is excellent. Lauren is helping me fill the gap that you fill, thank god or else I'd be home already. I miss and love ya.
VP - I was wondering when I'd see you on my message board. It's about time! That's great you are travelling too, let me know how your travels go, maybe you should get a web site too! I miss hangin wit ya!
CONNACHAN - Thanks for the message. Come party with me! Tell Gillian I went to Ellis Beach but it was raining - sucks! Hope you and the boy are well!
