Days 11 &12 were relatively chilled, had a lay in, went surfing around 11 for an hour (I did manage to catch about three waves but the saltwater had effectively rendered me blind) Although I got horrendously sunburnt, the entire backside of my body is now burnt and the doctors on my trip advised me to get 800mg Ibuprofen painkillers just so I can sit down, it's brutal. Spent the rest of the day after that just chilling in a hammock, watched the new Game of thrones ep, spent hours reading conspiracy theories about how Jon Snow will come back to life (He will ok), and got a significant way through Marching Powder.
Everyone in my group is currently reading Marching Powder, which is a true story about life inside Bolivia's corrupt San Pedro prison in La Paz. It's genuinely amazing the importance money plays in improving your time in prison, and how different the system was to an English prison, although apparently it's not like that anymore.
That night we got an overnight bus to Huabchaco, another beach town, but here it's a lot colder. I haven't really done much all day, just watched friends, napped, and read (all the whole suffering the pain of extreme suburnt and insect bites, also my cough seems to be getting worse)
I did have some amazing food though, Chinese style chicken rice for lunch, which was egg fried rice with chicken and various chopped vegetables mixed in, and for dinner we discovered a cute Italian place, that had only opened yesterday, had bruschetta to start, then a humongous bowl of spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce, plus a glass of wind for 25 soles. The waitress was so lovely, and the chefs came out to talk to us, we even got a picture with them in front of the restaurant. After that we went to a desert place, I had a thing called Dama Blanca which was basically just vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
I thought I'd feel better after pretty much a day spent in bed, but I actually feel worse, I'm quite worried that I'll miss out on all Lima has to offer because I'm too ill to do any of it :/
