GOR day 2
We slept until 10am which is unheard of when sleeping in the car! Freshened up and set off. The drive today was absolutely stunning, very windy roads following the ocean which is very blue listening to the crashing waves sun blazing down..amazing! We stopped at pretty much every lay by just to take it in, took loads of photos but none do it justice.
Eventually made our way down to Apollo bay. Again another very good town lots of shops picked up the essentials pin patch and post card.
We drove to a small harbour ate lunch and just lay on the grass for a few hours. After another walk around town we set off and stopped at Maits rest a small rainforest walk which was pleasant. Mart of course had a stick on the way for snakes.
Carrying along the beautiful road we ended up at the famous 12 apostles. Breathtaking, again my photos make them look average but they truly are wonderful. There's a long board walk to takes you out into the sea a bit so you can get a good view point. I wasn't too happy with my photos as it was very late in the day an the lighting was all wrong for them. Nevermind! However mart was walking and we came across a black snack he chased it trying to take a photo..he's waited 8 months to see one up close!
We continued on to port Campbell (decided this was the furthest we're going to go). Sat on the beach for a while just talking and made a plan for the next day.
We quickly drove to Cape otway lighthouse and took a photo (the one from round the twist for my sister).
We then decided to stop off at the 12 apostles again for sunset as we we're going that way..
It meant we drove to our campsite for the night in the dark which wasnt great..was actually a little creepy but we took it very slowly incase of kangaroos and made it to Johanna beach fine! Set the car up for the night and slept fine...
