Well we brought a car called Rosie. She is a Toyota carolla..she's old but she's lovely. Paid cash which was the hardest to get hold of ever. Lots of phone calls to Natwest! We signed over the registration and then hopped straight in. We decided not to get a sat nav and I'm chief map reader. It's pretty straight forward te Bruce highway goes all the way down the east coast.
Drove to mission beach which I expected to be heaving as its where everyone does the skydives but it had no one on it. Beautiful beach. Sunbathed for a while and carried on to Townsville. Weird city. Stocked up on some essentials. An iPhone charger being one. Then carried on all the way to airlie beach. Was quite hard in the dark as the roads aren't well lit. Drove her 500miles on her first day!
Airlie beach is delightful place..we were both pretty tired after the 9 hour drive so found a car park where everyone else was obviously sleeping too. Chairs back and attempted to sleep. We slept a lot better than we thought we would! I woke up a few times though.
Spent today shopping, exploring and relaxing by the lagoon and checked into our boat trip.
Had a few jugs of beer mart thinks it amazing that they have a tube of ice in the middle to keep it cold.
Booked frazer island and sat down and made a plan for the east coast. We've snuck Into some hostel showers and have hidden te car amongst some bushes tonight. Gormet meal for 2 of a cold tin of ravioli and tuna pasta in the car.
Sailing the whitsundays tomorrow-been a long time coming that boat trip has!!
