So where have we been?

We went to the lovely sulphur smelling geysers of Rotorua, very impressive if a little whiffy! The hostel was lovely and had a naturally heated pool. OMG it was lovely, you wouldn't believe how hot it got though!

Me and Aine skipped the high energy chaos adventure nit in favour of a free walk around the thermal park. We ended up having our own bit of culture and had a lovely chat with a nice Maouri man in the park playing the flute. Everyone is so nice, they all seem to love tourists, maybe coz we spend so much money!

the morining saw us off to a museum where we saw even more impressive hot bubbly pools of mud. had a guided tour and a quick explanation into Maouri culture.

the afternoon saw some cave action and a glow worm tour. Did you know they aren't worms, they're the maggot stage on a large mosquito type bug and it is the chemical in it's poo that reacts with the oxygen that makes it glow! see, We're learning as well as having fun!

today we made it over to Lake Taupo for a good intake of scenery. We get a 'free day' off the bus 2morow so we are off on a trip up mount doom very early in the morning.
