Howdy folks!
So we woke up this morning with all four wheels still in place which was a relief! Up bright and early as planned and even managed to pop our dumping 'cherry' so to speak, as we emptied our "grey" waste tank for the first time (which is basically dish/shower water), a pleasant experience none the less and cant wait for the "black" tank now...(you can guess what that is im sure).
The Flintstones park was exited in a hurry without any hint of sadness and we were headed for the Grand Canyon. The national park was only about half an hour away so we were there just before 10am, parked up and out to the south rim by 10:30.
It hit us pretty instantly as to why you could see it from the plane, it is HUGE (around 10 miles just in width), to drive from the south rim to the north is about a 5 hour drive as well!
It is absolutely amazing though, just the absolute scale is hard to take in, to the point where it almost looks fake. Was slightly annoyed at the fact that the famous 'Sky Walk' was apparently on the West rim as opposed to where we were! Shame, but its safe to say we had a pretty good view so cant complain too much!
We got loads of pictures but have yet to find a computer able to upload our pictures on to (we dont have the USB connection, only the memory card!), soon as we do though they shall be added.
So, a couple of hours of walking along the rim and a cheeky ice cream later we decided to make a move and start our journey towards Las Vegas with our plan to be to go back past Seligman to Kingman, which is around 95 miles from Vegas. Did think about spending the night at the Canyon but as grand as it is once you've seen it theres not much else to do.
Myself, Aimee and our trusty steed (thats the RV btw, we've not named her yet so suggestions are welcome!) hit Kingman early evening and rocked up at one of the few okay looking RV parks (cant remember the name, something like "Visu" i think). The woman in the office also had teeth missing - so you know! (what is it with the female population and dental hygiene over here??)
All in all a great day, taking in one of the natural wonders of the world on an amazing day in Arizona, clear blue skies helped make the experience that bit better! Even MORE importantly than any of that though, Liverpool rounded off the thrashing of europes most decorated club side by dishing out a footballing lesson to the "mighty" United on their own turf! (thats a double this season i believe) I think from memory (in case you tried to forget Dave!) the scoreboard read something like:
Man U 1 - 4 Liverpool
A great sight im sure you all agree.
Anyway, back to "Visu" RV Park and following a hearty pasta dinner rustled up by our in -house chef (Aimee) and one of the worst films ive seen in a long time (The Fabulous Baker Boys) we hit the sack wondering what sights Vegas would offer us tomorrow...
'Till next time...
Love Y'all xx
