Next stop was Florida to stay with craigs aunt, Teresa, for a few weeks, so after boarding our very small plane as it was an internal flight and seeing lots of massive leather chairs and thinking we were flying in style, it actually turned out that that was the first class section and we were placed in the usual small, uncomfortable chairs at the back!! Anyway, we arrived in Orlando about 2pm and was picked up by Teresa and her little girl Thea and went straight back to their's to unload our stuff....
Even driving through the roads everywhere looked so clean and big, then pulling into their private road, the houses were just unbelievable. Teresa's house is amazing, its massive!! Our room has an on-suit shower room and a walk-in wardrobe, oh and a 4 poster bed with views of the back of the house, which backs on to a massive lake and looks lovely as you wake up of a morning... not bad considering we're meant to be living on a travellers budget (fiji is going to come as a shock after this :-)
The house also has a lovely swimming pool, and well just look at the pictures, its lovely!
That night we went out for dinner (which to be honest we've done most nights, so america is not a place for dieting, everything is so big here and the portions are massive, has been nice though as Teresa knows all the nice restaurants to go to.
After some lunch on Thursday, Teresa dropped us off at a mall which was nice, managed not to spend all of our money for the next 4months and craig got a few bargains.
Friday- We went to the 'Magic Kingdom' disney park and as we walked in there's a massive castle that was being filmed for a show to go out christmas morning. They had 'Dancing with the Stars' stars on there ( American show that Mel B was on) and they were all dancing and singing xmas songs, they included, Drew Le'Shea ( jessica simpsons ex-husbands, Nick, his brother) a girl from a group called the cheaters, the winner of the show which was an indie racing driver and then they annonouced that jessica simpson would be coming on in 20mins so we decided to be sad and wait to see her, although the 20mins turned into an hour but we just kept thinking the minute we walked away she would come on stage and so hung it out. To be honest though she was a bit of a diva, moaning her voice was too low, then too high, then her hair wasn't right etc etc.. but hey least we can say we've seen jessica simpson :-) and the castle, the music and the lights and everything looked really cool, felt really Christmassy as well.
After that and lunch we had left it a bit late to go on any rides but we did see the christmas parade and went into a 3-d movie of cartoons, oh and on the privates of the Caribbean boat which was all cool. Been really lucky because Teresa can get us into all of the parks its nice that we don't have to rush around as we're lucky enough to be able to go back to them on other days if we want to.
Saturday- We went to the 'Epcot' Disney Park which is based on different countries, so the whole park is the shape of a circle, (like the world) then there's a massive lake in the middle and around the outside you can walk through whats meant to be the countries, like Future World, where all the rides are, then Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, Uk and Canada and in each section they would have things that relate to that country. Its really pretty. They also had a rose and crown pub in the uk section so that was extra good.. vodka and beer to see us through the day :-) Here we went on mission space which is a ride that takes you to mars, sounds silly but disney do anything in soooo much detail that you actually start believe these things.. that or the vodka made us think that :-)
Once again we didn't really get on many other rides as its so nice just walking about as there's so much to see and still been really nice weather which has been great.
Also on Saturday we went to a town called 'Celebration' to watch their christmas tree lights be turned on and its honestly like a pretend town, they even layed down prented snow on the ground and then when the christmas tree lights had been turned on they used they're machines to blow it all around so it was like it was snowing, oh and that was after father christmas had come in on a horse drawn slaugh! just another world over here!
Sunday- We went to the 'MGM Studios' Disney park, which we think is our favourite, although its hard to choose as they've all been so good. This one is based on movies though and we finally went on a ride straight away, which was the Tower of Terriors which sent us into pitch black and shot us up and down, has a really pretty waterfall there as well, a pretend ship that you can sit outside for a beer in the sunshine, whilst watching a 'High School Musical' show which thanks to L.J and Daisy i knew all the words to every song :-)
We then went and watched an Indianna Jones Stunt show which was excellant. They demonstrate how they do they're stunts for films and had stunt doubles there showing how they do fighting scenes, fire scenes etc. After that we went on a movie train tour and I was sat next to some really strange man who kept suddenly throwing his hands into the air for no reason every now and then, and sniffing in my ear really closely to me!! .. I just attract them all!!
Then definitly the best part of the day was going to see a Car Stunt Show, it showed you how they do car stunts in films, like when a car looks like its driving in reverse really fast, the car is actually made back-to-front, so from the outside it looks like its in reverse but the drivers seat and engine are actually placed in the rear of the car, so if you look in the inside of the car the driver is actually driving forwards. really clever but you have to see it as i dont know if that really made any sense. Also they had the Herbie car and it split in two but was still driving, then they had motor bikes with their drivers on fire, jet skies, car chases and loads of cool stunts!
Then Teresa, her husband Ozer and Thea came and met us to watch the christmas tree lights be turned on in the park and we can not describe how amazing they were, every single cm of a building had a light on it and it lite up the whole street through the park, along with a massive christmas tree as well. Its been brilliant being here around christmas time because americans seem to put so much effort into making everything unbelievable that its kind of like we've had an early christmas here as it wont be so Christmassy in fiji.
Monday- Yep another park, this time we went to 'Animal Kingdom' disney park and it was another good day. Firstly we watched the show The Lion King which was cool, then we went in 'its tough being a bug' which is a screen show thats in 3-d so its like loads of bugs are getting you and they even make lumps go in your seat as if the bugs are underneith you, and then we went on the 'Kilimanjaro Safaris' which was excellant. Its a safari vechicle that goes through 'africia' with giraffes, gazelles, elephants, rhinos, lions which are all roaming freely. They also had apps and crocodiles!! Then we went on a big rollercoaster called 'Expedition Everest Legend of the Forbidden Mountain' which goes into pitch black and backwards which was cool, but we took a miss at the rapids as everyone was literally coming off socked from head to toe, so instead we decided to sit down at a cocktail place instead, although i don't know if i will again, knowing nothing about cocktails, i ordered a marigrita and criag ordered a pinacalarda and lets just say they didn't taste the greatest!!
Tuesday- We went to watch Thea dancing which was really funny and sweet as her and her little friend are the youngest ones in the class so they just kind of treated it as they're own party and not listening to a word the teacher said :-) Oh and Ozer arranged our cruise, so we leave for that on Sunday and come back on Thursday so that should be really nice!! so we will up date you all on that after thursday!
Hope everyones well, thinking of you all
Love Aim and Craig xx
