Cycled 27ks through Hells Gate National Park today. Amazing rock formations which inspired the Lion King. Farewell campfire party for those finishing up at Kenya.

Travelled the 180k of dirt road which took 4 hours before hitting better roads en route to the border town of Eldoret, home of the famous Kenya marathon runners. A beautiful campsite after travelling all day was most welcome.

Began the day with a hot air balloon ride over the Masi Mara National park. On route to our Champagne Breakfast we had our first sighting of zebras, topi, wilderbeast and elephants! Then another game drive where we saw lion brothers, hippos and lionesses. Then the hightlight of the day, a male lion mating -twice! Saw a cheetah resting under the shade of a tree and our first encounter with giraffes. Had lunch at the Mara river with all the hippos and crocodiles b...

Left Nairobi and descended into the Great Rift Valley into Masi Mara country, finally arriving at our campsite ready for our game drive tomorrow!

Arrived safely for Nairobi peak hour- nearly side swiped. Learnt afew words of Swahali off driver as sellers negotiated traffic displaying and selling hats, ties, fruits and snacks. Have had our tour meeting and are off to Masai Mara tomorrow @ 8am.
