Ingrid So many cultural traditions still live in the subconscious, I think. There is hardly space for them anymore. The ceremony or initiation of leaving boyhood behind and becoming an adult. Proving you are a strong male,... They had strong guidance and preparation. There is very little now. Just pride...It will take a while still. Quite a few matcho guys in England... Thanks for your writing. Lookforward to seeing you for lunch in May. lots of love Ingrid
Helen Yasmin Dankeschoen. Es hat spass gemacht diese Blogs zu schreiben. Gut das ihr koenntet auch 'was mit mir erleben. Ich bin schon wieder weg, also dieses mal verpassen wir uns, aber viel spass in Devon!

re: A Fond Farewell (Till Next Time!)Meggan Yes, there are macho men all over the world, and this man, apart from his pride, is a very kind generous man who's company I enjoy.
re: “Real” Botswana: Violence, Stupidity and Self-Proclaimed HeroesYasmin Bringing my score ratings down Ingrid, how dare you! ;) It was indeed wonderful! If I'd had a parachute I'd have been very tempted to jump off yes. Otherwise, rather not, I quite like my life. ;)

re: “Real” Botswana: Violence, Stupidity and Self-Proclaimed HeroesWilburg Its good to know about your reflexions and plans. Still there are open questions - maybe even for yourself, but you will find out sooner or later. In any case you have seen many parts of the world I have never been to and will never get to, and back to England or Europe you will always know there is more to it on this globe - more different ways to live and more different ways to be human. i have just finished reading a book from Ayaan Hirsi Ali about the situation of women in the islamic world where she comes from (somailia) now living in the USA.
