I went to Utah for a conference a week ago. Conferences are usually painful and sitting through some of these education sessions are no different. BUT I love going to this conference because its NRPA- National Recreation and Parks Association aka. a lot of friends from all over the world that I have met thanks to MWR and some of my professors. So we sit and suffer through the lectures, but the teachers are professional recreators too and know our need for entertainment is great so our days are over at a reasonable hour. My friend Gina, who I worked with in San Diego and hadn't seen since before she deployed with her ship in January, and I skipped the least important day and decided to head to Arches National Park. BEAUTIFUL! A 4 hour road trip and rain the whole way but it stopped raining when we got there. Got a little blue sky at the end but still managed to get some great pictures. We got lucky enough that the rain waited until after we left to start up again. Accidentally detoured and saw more of Utah and found a Sonic Drive In restaurant. Extra long cheese coney you are my weakness.
