Waking up in Ayutthaya we were given fresh Thai fruit for breakfast and eggs. We grabbed a tuk tuk to have a look at the temples (too hot to cycle!) and visited Wat Chaiwatthanaram which is just on the outskirts of Ayutthaya. It was absolutely stunning and after paying the entrance fee (50 baht) we wandered around the stupas and marvelled that a building built in the 1600s could look this good- minus a few now headless buddhas. Up really early to catch the minibus at 6.30am to Surat thani airport! Caught our flight to Bangkok and arrived midday. Waking up desperately needing the loo but being too scared to go into the bathroom on my own I waited for Tobes to wake up too! Woke up early to catch the 9.30am boat and bus to travel to Khao Sok National Park. Breakfast was at a surprising little bamboo shack on stilts over the mangroves called Bondi Beach Café and we were served by an Aussie girl teaching English to hotel staff.
