Our first full day in Manuel Antonio is one for the books. As the previous blog mentioned, we spent the morning hiking through the national park enjoying the incredibly picturesque views, along with the very unique wildlife; monkeys, toucans, and three toed sloths to name a few.
After we exhausted all potential hiking options we called it a day and began our journey back up the hill to our hotel, but not before a quick stop to pick up a bottle of chilled white wine.
Back at our villa, we cooled off with a swim in the pool, hung out and read on the beach, swam in the bath-water warm ocean, and basked in relaxation on our perfectly placed hammocks on our balcony overlooking the torqoise Pacific while sipping cold, citrusy Chilean wine. Yeah, not bad.
A profound and unique moment of joy overwhelmed me, at which point I looked over at Adrian and told him, "I'm SO happy right now".
As if on queue, he replied "That's good, because I have a present for you." He walked into the apartment and returned with something small in his hand.
The rest is, well, history. Adrian asked if I would marry him; to which I replied, "of course".
And so it's official. We are now engaged! And will continue the rest of our trip as husband and wife-to be!!
