It took me two planes and about five hour to get from San Francisco to Vancouver. The first thing I noticed as I got off the plane was that I could see my own breath. I was not use to this weather and what made it worse was that I didn't have chance to buy any warmer clothes in America so 90%of my backpack wasn't suitable for winter conditions and especially the extreme winters Canada can have. It wasn't the best forward planning from me. But I would manage with my football socks, jeans and hoody.

I sailed through customs and was soon on my way to Jon's via the very trusting sky train in Vancouver and a short work. It was in Brazil I last saw John and met John, he is a Scottish guy, keen for a good drink although a recent accident has saw him mellow a bit and loads of knowledge. I'd only had a couple of nights out with him in Rio but he assured me that when I was in Vancouver he would put me up and he did. He was a big believer in travelling karma, as am I and would put anyone up he met. He was a great host, giving me a tasty vegetarian curry for dinner (wow I never expected tasty and vegetarian in one sentence)

As luck would have it Tom had come up to Van for the day so after lunch and a catch up we went and too meet him for a beer. Jon said he could stay at his as well and before we knew it we had a night out planned. We headed back to John's with beers and pizza for pre drinks and then after made our way out to I think it was called London's Bar where we had a decent night out sinking ales, dancing like t*** and battering the pizza at the local pizza shop after. Tom was up to his usual drinking antics nearly pissing in John's front room but luckily I was awake to direct him to the lav.

I didn't see too much as Van, but I didn't mind I knew I would be back to visit John and see the sighs and it was only two hours away from Whistler, so the next morning I left with Tom to go to Whistler and face the real world again and trying to find a job and place to live for the ski season.
