Jimmy still works and he had an early morning start at Woorabinda at 9am so we didn't get to see him too much. We took the bikes for a ride around Baralaba. It is a town frozen somewhere in the 1970's. Wide dusty main street, locals who drive past slowly to check out the strangers but still wave like old friends, ancient petrol bowsers. The free van park down by the weir is pretty busy and Jimmy tells me it's like that all the time with travellers from all over, but mainly down south.
Got going way too late, drove over to Woorabinda for a quick drive through for interest and to see where Jimmy was working and then on to Eastbrook. Apparently it's much easier road than it was but still took us ages sneaking along with the caravan. Didn't actually get 'bushed' as Tim said but arrived pretty late in the day.
The house that Tim and Janine have built is really nice. It's up the hill a few hundred metres from the old yards. Warmer and a better view up there. Cold again. J quite sick with tonsillitis now, rigors tonight. Not sleeping at all.
