We got to the airport but due to the time everything was closed so we had to wait. We knew our Fiji airlines flight was delayed as it was already on the screen! It wasn't looking good for Fiji air! So we decided to check our bags were all the right weight and did some rearranging! Then we had to wait an hour and a half for the checkout to open. Once it finally opened we got checked in and headed through customs. We had a few bags but Dad was sure they wouldn't weigh our carry on. But sure enough they did. So there were a few of us wearing several layers in the heat of Hawaii. We made it to our gate but the gate lounge hadn't opened yet. So we tried to have a nap. When it finally opened we sat there for another hour, before getting called to board. We were running an hour and a half late and now had to make a stop in Samoa as well to get fuel for the plane! We got into the plane where there were no TV's and only 6 seats in a row. Not what we were used to for an international flight! But we eventually took off and made our way to Samoa where we touched down for fuel and then carried on to Fiji. When we arrived we were already 2 hours late for our connecting flight to Auckland but they had held the plane up so we went straight from one plane to the next, and finally made our way into Auckland. Was a long 10 hours with no TV's but we were happy to be back on familar ground. After some difficulty trying to get checked in for our domestic flight, as they couldn't sort Matthews bag to go with him to Dunedin. We made our way to the gate for the second last flight, to Christchurch. It was a short flight so it wasn't too bad. Then a quick stop in Christchurch, we said goodbye to Matt and made our way to Invercargill while he went to Dunedin for a rodeo. Another short flight and we were getting ready to land. The wind was strong and the fog was thick. We were all slightly worried but we had a good pilot who landed the plane. We made our way inside where everyone was waiting to see Nicole. Said our hellos. Grabbed our bags and headed home. With a quick stop at nana and grandads for a vehicle change. While Nicole went to a party to see everyone again. We finally made it home about 11:30pm and crawled into bed for a much needed sleep, after an absolutely amazing holiday! One we'll never forget!
