Day 4: Killarney - Blarney - Cobh - Cork
Our day begins by crossing the Cork and Kerry mountains and heading for the world renowned Blarney Castle. Here we spend plenty of time (2h) visiting the Castle, and kissing the Blarney Stone endowing us with the gift of eloquent speech (gift of the gab) for 7 years. Surrounded by beautiful and majestic gardens, we may also take the time to visit the Blarney Woolen mills, the world's largest Irish shop.
Our next stop is Cork, Ireland's second largest city and home of the magnificent English Markets which were recently visited by Queen Elizabeth herself. Here you can sample a wide array of Irish local produce from artisan meats to excellent cheeses, the English Markets are home to some of the best and most diverse produce to be found on the island.
Your guide shall point out some of the city's highlights including Patrick Street, and the beautiful River Lee before heading off to Cobh (Queenstown) which was the last departure port of RMS Titanic. We hear stories of millions of Irish people that emigrated between the 1840. -1950., especially during the desolate and very sad times of the Irish famine. We see the Titanic monument in the town center, and visit the impressive St. Coleman's Cathedral. Finally we spend the night in Cork, and enjoy a great night out where you may sample the local Murphy's stout.
