Adam & Ruth Coast to Coast
About Us
Mission accomplished.
We and our fellow campers were in good spirits in the garden of Intake Farm as we awoke to the final leg of our trip. Only 12 miles stood between us and the North Sea.
We packed up our kit for the last time and with a banana for breakfast headed down the hill to Littlebeck. The walk through Littlebeck wood was descri…
Well, here we go again folks. I should have learnt and given up drinking by now, but we're off for another "Holiday".
Due to some ancient calculation based on cycles of the moon, Easter is a moving feast in the modern gregorian calendar, May Day bank holiday is always the first Monday of May. This year the stars have aligned to put Easter and May Day within a week of each other, in addition Wills and Catherine have had the decency to give us the day off for their wedding. …

re: Robin Hood's Bay, UKAnd Dad Well that's it, so it is. It all sounded a bit of a breeze to me. Home now, then, and much needed TLC for the feet and legs. Hope you appreciated the largesse that was left on your doorstep by the mother. See you both soon - and well done!!!!!! Dad PS Arnold is looking forward to seeing you - he's getting fed up with us! Se
re: Robin Hood's Bay, UKMum (Rosemary) And well done, seems an understatement! You will have had a good nights sleep in your own bed by now. Off to work for me, but I guess you will be cutting the grass today? :) X
re: Robin Hood's Bay, UKDad I envy you two. I really do! I've just said to mum that we'll do the same walk soon. She sort of just looked at me. Need to work on the idea. It's been windy here which didn't suit arnold on his walk this morning. Used two s*** bags in the first 50 yards. Looking forward to seeing you both tomorrow? Well done. It sounded great. And superb diary entries - as somebody as already said, you can almost smell the sheep crap and all that stuff!
re: The Lion Inn, BlakeyMum 9Rosemary) Where is Brother Phone?!! Well done you two!! Milk, bread and cheese on the doorstep, as one of the girls must have the key.

re: Colburn, Richmondshire, UKChris & Sue Have you both lost your bikes! Minds! Did you say this was a hoilday and you went of your own accord. Great accomplishment so far. Good luck and best wishes for the rest of your journey. Chris likes the sound of the beer ;-)
re: Gunnerside, Swaledale, UKKen and Joan I think we told Ruth about our problem with the peat bog early on our, north to south, Penine Way trek. After nagging Julian to watch where he was putting his feet Mom stepped up to her thigh in a stinking bog and it was me who had to stick his arm down the 2ft hole to retrieve a more than usual smelly boot. It's what makes the effort memorable. Keep it up and good luck for the next few days.
re: Gunnerside, Swaledale, UKDad Well done so far you two. It all sounds terrific - apart from the sore feet! Keep going and make the most of it. Are you getting/able to see all the messages and comments from people writing in the blog? Love Dad
re: Gunnerside, Swaledale, UKMum (Rosemary) What exciting reading! I was beginning to think that I was driving up to rescue you both with a bowl of warm water to soak your sore feet. Well done so far both, and love too. XX
