With time to kill I thought I'd go into a bit more detail of my New Zealand leg of the trip!
So I landed in Auckland just over two weeks ago and settled in a dorm where I met Patrick, Luke and Imogen. Got changed and head back out to go up the sky tower! The views were awesome! Head back to the hostel and swiftly went on a night out with the dorm!
Patrick went home early Luke was working so it ended up with just Imogen and I partying the, not very busy, night away!
Woke up in the morning with Imogen gone (on the kiwi bus ahead of me) Luke passed out in bed (as he only got in at 7 having gone out after work) and Patrick nowhere to be seen (later found out he was working at the hostel and had a breakfast shift), so I decided that it would be a good idea to see a bit more of the place as I was only there for the day... Big mistake! I went out in shorts, a tshirt and a hoodie strolled to the port and jumped on a ferry to Waiheke??? Island where I got a bus tour around for a few hours then straight back on the ferry and back to the hostel for a rest! No night out that night as I needed to be up for my kiwi bus pretty early (and I was still dead from the night before)!
Woke up and strolled down the bus stop at the end of the road and met a few people also getting on the bus. Bus arrived chucked our stuff in underneath and jumped on! Met the driver (Guy) and found a seat... Quiet bus! Made a few more pick ups and the bus half filled. Then we stopped at a supermarket which got people talking a bit, a few introductions were made before we got back on for the drive to hot water beach.
Back on the bus guy now made us speed date! Everyone was partnered up and then shifted round a person every 3 minutes! Good to get people talking and meeting other people!
So the bus was now... Brad, John, Duncan, Murray, Matt, Ed, Ben, another Ed, Jason, Jaret, Rob, Eric, Matius, Patrick, Mollie, Becki, Josephine, Malin, Tessa, Gail, Michelle, Kia, Ann-Kristen, Shona two couples and myself! (I don't think I've forgotten anyone!)
