So I've been pretty lucky with my dorms so far and that hasn't stopped yet! I arrived in Sydney at about 5 and went in search of a hostel... Found out where base was and so headed there. Got checked in and went up to the room to meet Ben (from Birmingham) and Erika (from near Toronto, Canada). All of us were dead so no going out out but out for dinner. Found some little Thai place in the red light district of Sydney, kings cross. Having had dinner we decided to go for a casual pint in the bar next to the hostel which got Erika smashed (she's only little bless her). Back to the room for a sleep!
Wake up the next day with Ben gone (to the kiwi experience) and no Erika (gone to see the three sisters in the blue mountains) but the room filled with people. Met Amie, Rob, Mona and, the guy that was in there previously but kept himself to himself, Roberto.
Went our own ways during the day, I had an admin day to get stuff sorted ready for the east coast mainly going to peterpans to book my accommodation and trips etc up the coast, turns out this is actually a good idea!
Back at the hostel cooked some dinner ready for a night out with the swedes from my kiwi bus, Josephine and Malin, and the guys from my room. Casually strolled into a bar/ bottle shop and bought 5 litres of goon (which is actually just cheap wine that doesnt really have any flavour). Back to the room and out come the drinking games! Pyramids, grandstand, on the bus among others! Naturally Erika was gone in one round, amie was keeping pace as was rob and Mona joined late so played catch up... Oh and I was on my way! Ended up just going to scary canary (the base bar) and not seeing the swedes as they were in kings cross complaining that all the bars were strip clubs! Had a good night anyway!
Woke up with the plan to catch the ferry to Manly and then bus it up to palm beach (where home and away is filmed) but when I got over to manly I found out palm beach is an hour and a half on a bus... Each way... Maybe not! So I decided to find a beach a bit closer and chill... Which is where I am now!
The surfers here are mad! Some of the waves are massive I can't imagine I'll be on them anytime soon! Absolutely stunning beach though so I'm happy sitting!
