Hi Kids
Well, I was wondering if or when this moment would come during this tour...it has.
As you may remember, a number of the cast have been dealing with illnesses of one thing or another for the last month or so, and I guess as the story goes, probably from the very beginning of the tour. I remember Mark (stage manager) talking to me back in New York about this being my first tour and saying in particular, " Take care of yourself, stay healthy...take your vitamins..etc." And at the time I remember thinking..."Huh, that's the least of my worries." As it turns out, it's the subject that's seems to be first and foremost on everyone's mind now. With so many being sick we've begun to call what's going around the company as "The Plague"! And we've sometimes referred to the bus as the "Rolling Infirmary"...Some say flu, some say bronchitis, others say " I really don't care what it is, I just feel like total crap!!"
Well. whatever it is I've got and trust me....it sucks. I first noticed feeling very tired after we left Florida and it really hit me on Friday. For a couple of days I felt so out of it, all I wanted to do was sleep. Thankfully I got thru the next couple nights of shows and had a much needed day off.
So, during this time, much of my attention has been focused on just remaining upright for the shows so I haven't taken many pictures in the last few days, but I promise to be back in form shortly. I can tell you that we were at James Madison University in Virginia in an older theater/lecture hall? A lovely little theater in Wilksboro NC and the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem NC, a beautiful old theater that I regret very much not getting some pictures of...but, I was just trying to make it thru the evening.
But I feel like I'm getting to the other side of it and that's great. I have to say that I continue to be amazed at the people in this cast, when they've been called upon to step in for people who are sick they have given a-mazing efforts, all of them. I can't tell you enough what a joy and humbling experience it is to be around such people...thank you guys!
Now stop getting sick!!
Be back soon
Glenn
