Thought a change of scenery would be nice, so off I went to Port Douglas for two nights. Surprise, surprise, the rain followed me as well. I thought I was in for a rough time, so booked a day tour to see Cape Tribulation, and Daintree, at least if I was going to be wet and miserable I was going to get something out of it! Woke up this morning to blue skies and sunshine-yay!
Had a fantastic day...starting out with a stop at Mossman gorge (river, rocks and a suspension bridge) before moving on to Daintree, a town famous for its sugar mill-and also where I got stung by a wasp-will not be forgotten in a hurry! We then stopped off at a small animal sanctuary where they homed snakes, crocs, kangas and cockatoos that would eat of your hand-cute! One more stop at Murrdja Boardwalk where our guide told us a bit about the rainforest and how it was a world heritage site, blah blah.
Lunch was next to Cape Tr5ibulation beach. It really is as pretty as they say-just a shame the sun had decided to go away by then. Had a quick walk on the beach before we set off again for our croc cruise down the Daintree River (named after some English guy). We saw a few crocodiles and snakes and then headed back to Port Douglas. A good day overall.
