Cusco is an amazing city. At one end you have the historical importance of a city that was once the centre of the Inca empire, which stretched from Columbia in the North, to Argentina in the South. There are beautiful buildings, amazing ruins to walk around and so much history to take in. On the other hand it is the most touritsy place I think I have ever been. We have just sepnt the most wonderful day and a half amongst the people of Lke Titicaca (apologise for spelling-whether it{s correct on this or on the post cards-who knows!) Anyway yesterday we set off into the middle of the Lake to an Island called Taquill. It{}s a big rock which is divided into 6 parts, which the people on it farm. The easiest border crossing so far! We took quite a few buses to get here-but no problems, and compared to Boliva, comfort all the way. Now in Puno with our new tour leader...not too sure about him yet-seem very much into group acitivies all the time-nice if you{re new...but we{ve all known each other for 3 months and want to do our own thing. La Paz has to be the scariest, most dirtiest city I have ever been to. It is also the worlds highest city dont you know!
