After an 11 hour bus journey I arrived in Wellington. Booked into my hostel on Wakefiled street, just around the corner from all the shops and the museums. Spent last night in the bar...made some friends with a few people on the bus down, and spent all of today waking up. Once I had succesfully managed that I went to the Te Papa museum, another Maori, cultural museum-very similar to Auckland, but much more interactive-they even ahd an earthquake simulator!

I'm hoping tomorrow that I can get the ferry to the South Island, but the boats today were all cancelled due to the crappy weather..it is so cold and has not stopped raining (bring back South America!), so fingers crossed.
