It's been a while since I've had a chance to stop and update this thing. After spending a little while in Bangkok, I took a two day trip down south to the town of Phetchaburi. It's a little off the tourist trail, and I'd forgotten how nice it is to visit places like that. The people were far friendlier, the accomodation cheaper, and the food more authentic. It just felt very comfortable to be away from all the tourist restaurants and touts and all that stuff....

On my last day on Ko Chang, I met two other travelers, one from Canada and one from Korea. The Canadian guy really didn't want to do much, he just sat around and ate which was kind of nice, because I always had someone to eat with. The Korean girl was a bit more interested in doing some exploring, so I figured that I'd take her back to the place where I saw the snake and try to reach the waterfall again. I finally made it to Thailand, and I just finished watching the hardest rain I've ever seen. While eating a late lunch at my hotel in Sukothai, I noticed that it had started to pour. 15 minutes later, the rain had stopped, but that was all it took to flood the streets and put everything under about 4 or 5 inches of water.
